Welcome to HFG Wealth Management. We are an independent, fee-only, comprehensive financial planning and wealth advisory firm headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, and serving clients in Texas and nationwide.

At HFG Wealth Management, our approach is to serve as your guide, helping you align your deepest beliefs, values and goals with your financial resources so that you can realize your vision of the future. Typically our clients have worked in the energy sector, are doctors and dentists or own one or more businesses in the Services, Manufacturing and Technology sectors.

Our clients don’t have the time or desire to be involved in the day to day management of their finances or retirement planning. They are not interested in working with a commissions-based financial advisor. Their daily activities consists of working, traveling, leisure activities and enjoying time with their families.

They are usually active in their churches or communities, giving regularly to charitable organizations and trusts. They value financial independence, desire to help their own children get a good start in life, and take time to enjoy life along the way.

A recurring market crisis and U.S. government decisions are among their biggest concerns. Others include transitioning into retirement and coping with the loss of a life partner.

Larry A. Harvey, ChFC
Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Larry Harvey is a financial advisor and planning consultant with over 30 years of experience providing comprehensive and wealth management strategies for high net worth and affluent individuals, families and small business owners. He is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and an Investment Advisor Representative who helps a select group of accepted clientele make strategic and informed financial decisions that propel them to achieving their desired lifestyle and financial goals. Larry has been a recipient of the Five Star Wealth Manager Award from 2009 - 2017. This award is achieved by less than 3% of wealth managers in the Houston area. Larry holds degrees in accounting and business management from the University of Tampa. He earned his ChFC designation from American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association and the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Larry serves on the boards of various companies and is a sought-after advisor, lending his vast knowledge and years of experience to their firms.

Kevin Bruce, CFA
Chief Investment Strategist

Kevin serves as Chief Investment Strategist for HFG Wealth Management. Additionally, Kevin serves as Chief Compliance Officer for HFG and a member of the HFG Investment Committee. Kevin brings over sixteen years of investment analysis and consulting experience with expertise in investment management, due diligence and financial planning. Prior to joining HFG, Kevin served as Vice President of Bank of Texas Investments where he held a dual position responsible for wealth management and investment consulting to institutional investors. Kevin graduated with a B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder and currently holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)designation. Kevin and his wife reside in The Woodlands with their three children. Kevin enjoys spending time with family and is an accomplished triathlete and boxing coach.

Cameron Capriotti, CPA
Associate Wealth Advisor

Cameron Capriotti, CPA serves as an Associate Wealth Advisor for HFG Wealth Management. Cameron is responsible for creating and maintaining the Comprehensive Financial Plans for HFG clients and works closely with the advisory team to deliver clients fully integrated wealth management services. Cameron believes it is truly important to provide clients with the highest form of customer service and has a true passion for financial planning and wealth management. Cameron enjoys building relationships with clients and working to ensure HFG clients feel secure in knowing their financial plans are complete, efficient and organized.

Skyler Denny
Financial Planning Specialist

Skyler Denny is a Financial Planning Specialist for HFG Wealth Management. Skyler is responsible for creating and maintaining the Comprehensive Financial Plans for HFG clients and works closely with the advisory team to deliver fully integrated wealth management services for the clients. He holds a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University and was past President and Vice President of the Financial Planning Student Association. Skyler currently volunteers with Junior Achievement of Texas and is a frequent speaker and volunteer for Texas A&M University Financial Planning students.
Outside of work, Skyler enjoys working out, outdoor sports, A&M football, traveling and spending time with family and friends. A lifelong resident of the area, Skyler resides in The Woodlands.

Steve Brand
Financial Planning Specialist

Steve Brand is a Financial Planning Specialist at HFG Wealth Management. Steve brings over twenty-five years of experience in accounting, systems analysis, business development and project management expertise. Steve is involved in the financial planning and case design, scenario analytics and client service. Prior to joining HFG Steve worked for fourteen years as a Business Analyst and Data Specialist at Aon Hewitt in The Woodlands where he was responsible for implementing enterprise wide conversions of defined contribution, benefit and health and welfare plans accurately. Steve graduated with a B.A. from Sam Houston State.

Lynn Williams
Client Services Associate

Lynn Williams serves as a Client Service Associate with HFG Wealth Management. She has over ten years of experience as a Client Service Associate / Executive Assistant to Financial Advisors in The Woodlands and Conroe areas. Lynn has strong experience in financial procedures, policies and customer service. As Client Service Associate, Lynn will continue to enhance the client experience by servicing clients and providing operational and administrative support to the team. Her knowledge of firm policy, procedures and technology enables her to interface with clients, anticipate their needs, resolve problems and follow through to provide exceptional service. She enjoys working with people and making sure the clients get the best and most expedient service possible. Lynn graduated from Sam Houston State University with a B.S. in Psychology.

Kathy Y. Coleman
Executive Assistant

As an Executive Assistant to Larry Harvey, ChFC, Kathy manages the CEO’s calendar and the firm’s administrative functions. Kathy brings twenty years of legal, administration and financial experience to HFG.Kathy began her career in the legal field where she worked as a legal assistant for more than fifteen years before entering the financial services industry. In 2000, she joined a financial advisory branch of American Express Financial Advisors in The Woodlands, TX. She later worked as a contract analyst for an energy trading group in The Woodlands. Prior to joining HFG, she worked as an Executive Assistant to the CEO of a security special firm dealing with high net worth individuals, families and companies, both domestic and international.

Mel Weems
Client Business Advisor

As a Client Business Advisor, Mel offers experience, direction and guidance to the firm’s clients who have business ownership or interest with business planning and operational needs. Prior to working with HFG, Mel served as a Partner and Vice President in the Global Business Services division of IBM. He has over 30 years of experience managing and delivering large-scale business improvement programs for major companies around the world. Mel was formerly a partner in the international accounting and consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers prior to joining IBM. While at PWC and IBM, Mel served a diverse range of clients in the manufacturing, consumer products and energy services industries.

Mel holds both a Bachelor’s Degree and Masters of Business Administration from Texas State University. He is a resident of The Woodlands, Texas. He has two daughters, one a 2010 honor graduate of the McCombs School of Business MPA program and the other a 2013 honor graduate also from the McCombs School at The University of Texas at Austin. When not working with our clients, Mel enjoys spending time on his ranch outside of Houston.

Chuck DeAses
Interim COO

As Interim COO, Chuck is responsible for assisting the firm’s executive team with strategic objectives and acts in an advisory capacity to the Founder and CEO. He also serves as an intermediary between the team leaders and management as the point person in exploring strategic partnerships and acquisitions.

Chuck is the founder of Veritas Business Consulting, Inc., a strategic planning and human resource consulting company with offices in Austin and Houston. Chuck is a board member of Bellatore Financial, President of Cuisines of Mexico and is co-owner of two regionally based company’s. Chuck is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management in Austin, The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and the Austin Chapter of RIMS. He has BS degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Austin Peay State University. He is married with one son and two step-daughters. Chuck and his wife reside in Cypress, Texas. He loves spending time with his family, running and cooking.
