THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Trinity Episcopal Church is about to begin construction of a new, $2.9 million children’s building. To make room for this new space, an existing building on the church’s campus will be demolished. A ceremony celebrating this important milestone for Trinity is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2017, complete with hard hats and sledgehammers as leaders of the church and parishioners strike the first blows to bring the building down.

The result of years of planning, the new building will include nursery facilities, workrooms, ample storage space, an office, five classrooms and a large multi-purpose room. The Trinity Kids Corner, a child care service that is open to the public, will be housed in this space, as will Christian formation and other ministries to the children of the parish.

“Trinity is a vibrant parish with over 60 ministries and outreach programs that meet on the campus daily,” said Gary Underwood, a leader of the Trinity Building Committee. “This new building allows us to meet the needs of our families in the church and continue to develop our relationship to families in the community.”

Trinity Episcopal Church was founded in The Woodlands in 1976 and moved to its current facility in 1999. Trinity is a vibrant parish with an average Sunday attendance of approximately 500, as well as over 60 ministries and outreach programs, addressing the needs of the community, meeting daily on its campus.
