Pesky Posts Got You Down?

Are you thinking of remodeling your kitchen or bathroom, but have posts that you have to work around?
Well, why work around them?...when we can just remove them. A lot of people don't realize that in most cases we can get rid of those posts with the addition of a new header or beam. And in some instances, it isn't as big a deal as some would think.
Also, you may get lucky and that post is not supporting anything. The builder of your home may have just thought it "looked good".
After - New beam is in!
Determining the size of the new beam is the first step...and also making sure we can maneuver it into the house where it needs to go.
Building some temporary walls/posts for support is next on the docket.
Then, depending on the size of the beam, we have a couple of our guys (or our entire crew haha!) get the beam into place.
Again, depending on the size, our crew can either raise it up where it needs to be installed or we have a lift that can jack it up into position.

Beam me up!
If you are "lucky" enough to have multiple posts...we can still do that remodel you've been dreaming of!

Before - Two posts?!? No problem!
In this particular kitchen remodel...we kept it simple and clean. It was wrapped with wood and painted. If you want to go a little rustic, it can be stained. We can also just make it blend away and drywall/paint it the same as the walls.

After - Posts down & kitchen finished
As you can clearly see in these kitchen remodels we have done...removing these posts have completely opened up the areas and made the spaces look much larger.

Before - Really?!? How many posts do you need?

After - Now that's better!
