Diwali – also known as the Festival of Lights – is a Hindu religious festival and one of the most important festivals within Hinduism. It generally lasts five days as it symbolizes the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.” In the lead-up to Diwali, celebrants prepare by cleaning, renovating, and decorating their homes and workplaces with diyas (oil lamps) and rangolis (colorful art circle patterns). Woodlands Online sends out a Happy Diwali to all celebrants!
