The National Weather Service has issued a FLOOD ADVISORY, which is in effect until 5:45 this afternoon.
Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected for a portion of southeast Texas, including Harris and Montgomery Counties, with minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
At 2:35 p.m., Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
