Social Justice Forum- Global Issues of Our Time

“Because when you lift up women, you lift up humanity.”  Melinda Gates, The Moment of Lift

Discover how knocking down barriers faced by women elevates both their own lives and the well-being of their families and community.  The Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church, 4881 W. Panther Creek Drive, in the Woodlands, will host a Social Justice Forum on Global Issues of our Time on Saturday, October 12 from 9:30-11:30 am in the Hendricks Education Building.

Kristin Campbell, delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, will moderate the discussion.  Kristen will connect the UN’s work on women's issues with messages from Charles and Melissa Johnson, Presbyterian Church (USA) Mission Co-workers in Zambia.  The Johnson’s work emphasizes food security, sustainable agriculture, and women’s and children’s health, particularly education about women’s hygiene issues.

Rev. Ndiwenu Machisa will share information about the ministry and educational outreach of his congregation in Chasefu as they travel to remote areas around Siavonga in southern Zambia.  The United Church of Zambia Siavonga Main congregation has been a mission partner of Woodlands Community Presbyterian for almost 20 years.
