What's New at The Learning Zoo?

By: The Learning Zoo | Published 03/22/2021

We hope everyone had a fun, exciting, and safe Spring Break last week! For the crew of The Learning Zoo, it was an extremely busy, but extremely gratifying time.

Now that the rush of Spring Break is behind us, it’s time to look towards summer, and we are very excited to share the new ways in which you can enjoy The Learning Zoo and our incredible animals!

Starting in April, we will be expanding our number of VIP tours, meaning more people will be able to visit the zoo and meet our animals as they go about their daily routine. VIP tours are the perfect way to get up close and personal with our animals. Tours include opportunities to feed our friendly tortoise herd, spend time with our barnyard animals, and enjoy a hands-on reptile encounter!

Tours are offered on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 10, 12, and 2. The price is $100 for up to 6 people. Email us to reserve your time slot!

The other amazing opportunity that we will be able to offer this summer is ZooKeeper Kamp, a unique camp experience for children ages 10-12.

Kampers will learn firsthand about what it’s like to be a Zookeeper and take care of animals, by doing it all first-hand!!

Working side by side with Zookeeper Drew, they will learn how to properly clean enclosures, prepare and feed diets, make enrichment, and look after all of the animals and plants that call The Learning Zoo home. This camp is perfect for animal fanatics who have always wondered what it’s like to take care of wildlife as a job!

Camp dates be July 26-30, and camp will run from 9:00-12:00. The cost is $175 per camper.

We hope that you will be able to come visit us this summer, and remember that we are still offering birthday parties, both at the zoo or at your home, with our fascinating animal ambassadors!
