Watermelon Juice

If you’re looking for a hydrating, refreshing beverage to enjoy on the patio while watching the kids play, this watermelon juice is perfect — and the kids will love it too! Using a juicer, juice some fresh watermelon slices. Add lime juice to taste and garnish with a mint leaf. Yup, that’s it! This watermelon juice recipe is so easy but so good.


This juice is versatile, as it makes for a great cocktail base, as well. Once the kids have been put to bed, add vodka, tequila, or rum for the perfect adult summer beverage.

Fresh Fruit Parfait

Play hard, snack hard! After spending time in the sun, the kids will need a quick snack that cools them down. A chilled fresh fruit parfait is the perfect solution! All you’ll need is vanilla yogurt, berries of your choice, and granola. 


In the bottom of your bowl or container, begin by spooning out a thin layer of yogurt. Top the yogurt with a few berries and granola chunks. Alternate layering the yogurt and toppings until you have reached the top of your container. Serve cold or chilled

Cold Kabobs

Spontaneous summer outings are one of the best parts about the season! If you’re taking the kids out on a day trip, you need to pack some snacks that will cool them off and give them a boost of energy when they begin to drag. Cold kabobs are perfect for families on the go — and are easily customizable.


All you’ll need are skewers and your favorite lunch meats, cheeses, and chilled veggies, like raw bell pepper. Layer your child’s favorites on a skewer and pack away in a cooler for later. You can also try this concept with fruit, like pineapple, melon, strawberries, bananas, and more.
