This position will learn techniques in performing routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices and programs including:
Prepping (extracting) liquid, solid and tissue samples using extraction techniques.
Preparing standards and solutions
Operation, calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments
Conforming to lab QA/QC practices and maintaining documentation.
Assist in analytical method development for specialized testing procedures.
Upload date in computer software system.
Assist in other areas of the lab when needed.
This individual must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays when applicable.
Additional skills include
knowledge of analytical and/or general science
knowledge of computers, laboratory software and spreadsheets.
ability to prioritize and multi task.
This position requires strength sufficient enough to lift and carry 30 pounds, endurance to stand for long periods of time, vision sufficient to read and interpret chemical and reagent labels, rules,and regulations and computer screens and printouts.
