Associate Pastor – Woodforest Campus

Full-time, exempt, includes Sunday mornings as scheduled

The Church at Woodforest is a campus of The Woodlands Methodist Church (TWMC). Our Woodforest campus has been a worshiping congregation since January 2016. Worship services are filled with contemporary worship music and engaging Bible teaching. Families and individuals of all ages are invited to join this “front porch” community of believers. The Associate Pastor will assist the Woodforest Lead Pastor in shepherding the Woodforest congregation.

Responsibilities Include

Provide oversight to TWMC’s GROW Discipleship program
Preaching
Writing study guides
Collaborate with ministry teams to produce worship and worship-related resources
Pastoral care including counseling, hospital visits, weddings, and funerals
Leadership of Woodforest events and Woodforest-specific programming. The Associate Pastor also provides pastoral leadership for church-wide events and programming across The Woodlands Methodist Church.

Skills Required

Job Requirements:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
Master’s Degree in area of Biblical Studies, Christian Formation or Master of Divinity Degree
Appointment as a licensed local pastor, provisional or ordained deacon or elder
Spiritual maturity, confidentiality, high energy, and strong passion for the Gospel message of Christ’s love and grace
Ability to multitask, handle complex, sensitive, and detail-oriented ministry situations
Committed to helping people grow spiritually closer to God
Innovative and creative thinker; unafraid to follow-through with implementation of new ideas
Team player capable of and committed to helping other staff members do a better job in accomplishing their job responsibilities, a desire to mentor
Flexible and adaptable
Able to multi-task
Relational and patient
Experience with budgeting
