Montgomery County Association of Business Women announces that the beneficiary of their annual 'Ladies Night Out' fundraiser will be the Friends of Montgomery County Texas Animal Shelter.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- The Montgomery County Associaton of Business Women have announced that Friends of Montgomery County Texas Animal Shelter will be the beneficiary of this year's annual fundraising event. Although the organization sponsors a non-profit member on a quarterly basis, an annual 'Ladies Night Out' event is held to benefit one of the non-profit members that do not an annual fundraising event.

Mercedes Milstead of Amegy Bank, the Ladies Night Out Chairman, made the announcement at the MCABW's luncheon, held the fourth Tuesday of every month at Incredible Pizza on Loop 336 South in Conroe. The event is scheduled for late September, but because the situation at the county's animal shelter is so dire, members are being asked to bring essential items to the monthly luncheons and evening networking events.

Essential items the animal shelter is desperate for include: dog & cat food (dry or canned) and treats, cat litter, collars & leashes, animal carriers, soap (laundry, hand, & animal shampoo), hand sanitizers, Clorox, towels & blankets, and bedding. There's also a desperate need for foster homes, adoptions, and volunteers. But above all, cash donations are needed to offset vaccinations, spaying and neutering, and other miscellaneous veterinary services. Weekley expenses have reached a record $8,000 per week.

The shelter is open seven days a week for adoptions, or to receive strays and sureendered animals. Hours are weekdays 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; weekends from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The shelter is located at 8535 Hwy 242, just east of I-45 North. Friends of Montgomery County (FMCTAS) isa Texas 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving and providing medical assistance to the animals at the shelter. Donations, cash or check, can be made out to FMCTAS, 330 Rayford Road, Ste 114, Spring, TX,77386. For more information please visit fmctas.org.
