THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Register now for the 14th annual CB&I TRI – The Woodlands Triathlon, scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Northshore Park, with the first wave starting at 7 a.m.

The CB&I TRI is one of the premier multi-sport events in the region, and this year’s event has been selected as the Texas State Triathlon Championship.

The USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned CB&I Tri, will host 1,400 athletes, ranging from beginners to nationally ranked triathletes. This triathlon is composed of a 500-meter open-water swim in Lake Woodlands, a 12.25-mile bike course throughout The Woodlands, and a 5K run along The Woodlands Waterway. Due to road opening times, course time limits will be strictly enforced. The event culminates with a festive awards party featuring music, great food and beverages at Northshore Park, located at 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381.

In addition to the Township issued awards, USA Triathlon (USAT) South Midwest Region will be providing awards to the top Overall Male, Overall Female, Overall Male Masters and Overall Female Masters. Winners receiving the USAT awards for Texas State Triathlon Champion must be residents of Texas and cannot hold Elite/Pro licenses. Should an athlete with an Elite/Pro License win, they would still receive the Township-issued award, but the USAT award would go to first-place amateur participant.

The CB&I TRI is produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department and offers high-caliber competition, first-rate race management and scenic courses. For the past 12 years, the CB&I Triathlon sold out, so early registration is advised. The triathlon is capped to ensure participant safety and is expected to reach capacity this year.
