Local author Kathryn Lane is 2017 Rone Award finalist
THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Kathryn Lane, author and creator of the popular Nikki Garcia Thriller series, recently announced she was selected as a finalist for the 2017 RONE Awards. Lane was originally nominated for the award for her debut novel, Waking Up in Medellin.
The RONE (Reward of Novel Excellence) Awards are presented by InD’tale Magazine. The awards honor the very best books in the independent and small publishing industry. To achieve this award, a book must go through the most comprehensive process in the industry today: first the book must have received a four-star rating or higher to qualify as a nominee; second, the book is subjected to a public vote to achieve finalist status; third, finalists will be read by a panel of industry professionals consisting of editors, writers, professors, and other experts, and be judged on different criteria.
“I am looking forward to attending the annual RONE award gala event and ceremony later this year to learn the judges’ final decision,” said Lane from her office in The Woodlands, Texas. “To be named as a finalist is truly heartwarming, and is reenergizing me as I work on my newest novel.”
Lane’s novel Waking Up in Medellin is also currently a nominee for the Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award™, a prestigious nationally based award, the Killer Nashville Readers’ Choice Award, and also recently was a winner of the National Association of Book Entrepreneurs (NABE) Pinnacle Book Achievement Awards.
