Brian Kilmeade Book Tour in The Woodlands
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Brian Kilmeade from Fox News will be at Barnes & Noble Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. to promote his new book, Sam Houston and the Alamo Avengers: The Texas Victory That Changed American History. This is Kilmeade’s fourth book in a series that retells stories of American leaders from the past.
“I’m just tired of the war on history,” Kilmeade said. “Everyone’s running from our past, taking down statues … one story at a time I’m going to reclaim American history,” he said.
His hope is that by breathing life into what has gone before he can show his readers how unlikely and special America’s success really was, and that the negativity included in its history doesn’t discredit the heroics.
“Because it took women 100 years to vote, it doesn’t mean it took us, America, 100 years to inspire the rest of the world to give people freedom and democracy,” he said. “It didn’t just happen by chance that we’re the number one economic and military super power … if you look back at our past you can see it happening,” he said.
Kilmeade also believes that the Battle of the Alamo, which he describes in his new book, holds a valuable message about failure; that success isn’t in the outcome, it’s in the effort put forth to achieve it.
“So many people think if they don’t win they fail, and I just don’t think that’s the case. I think there’s glory in effort,” he said. “The most stark example is how those men fought and died. If they didn’t stand and fight, if they took a deal and walked out, the war doesn’t come out that way and they’re not known for generations,” he said. “These people lost their lives, but they fought with such valor and courage, they live on forever.”
Brian Kilmeade grew up in Massapequa, New York. He met his now wife in tenth grade, and today they have three children together. He graduated from C. W. Post with a major in Communications and a minor in Political Science. He currently works as a co-host of Fox & Friends and host of the Brian Kilmeade Show on Fox News Radio.
