THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Feel the island vibes and transport yourself to Hawaii at The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Chairman’s Ball on Saturday, August 15 from 6 p.m. to midnight at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, located at 1601 Lake Robbins Drive.

Underwritten by Sam Houston State University, this year’s Hawaiian luau-inspired gala will celebrate outgoing Chairman of the Board Jeff Garrett of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company and The Woodlands area business community.

Guests are encouraged to dress the part with grass skirts, leis and flowered shirts in lieu of black-tie attire and come prepared to enjoy an exceptional meal, signature cocktails, fun elements like a mechanical surfboard, and much more.

“Luaus are an ancient Pacific-island ritual that rely on a celebratory communal spirit. They’ve always involved feasting, music and dancing, making it the perfect theme for this year’s soirée!” Lauren Joerg, director of marketing and communications at The Woodlands Area Chamber said.

Now in its 42nd year, the annual Chairman’s Ball offers one of the most unique marketing opportunities in the Greater Houston area. Open to all Chamber members, tabletop decorators will help transform the ballroom into an island paradise while showcasing their brand by decorating a 72-inch table to theme. There is no entry fee to participate and compete in the tabletop decorating contests, including: Best Use of Theme, Best Use of Logo, Best Overall Decoration, Best Nonprofit, Best Newcomer, Best Do it Yourself, Best Done for You, and People’s Choice Award. In addition to the publicity that comes along with this opportunity, tabletop decorators will also receive a $50 discount on an individual ticket for the event.

Tickets are $200 per guest or $1,500 for a table of 10. Sponsorship opportunities ranging from $500 to $7,500 are also available.

Mahalo to our sponsors to date, including: Presenting Underwriter, Sam Houston State University; Honolulu Sponsor, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company; and Kilauea Sponsors, The Woodlands Young Learners Academy and Consolidated Communications.
