Montgomery County COVID-19 Update for September 9, 2020

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Public Health District, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, is saddened to confirm four additional deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the total to 129.

· A woman in her 60s, from Conroe, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.
· A woman in her 60s, from Splendora, died in the hospital. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.
· A woman in her 80s, from Conroe, died in a long-term care facility. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.
· A woman in her 80s, from Conroe, died in hospice care. She had co-morbidities in addition to testing positive for COVID-19.

We can also confirm:

· TOTAL cases of COVID-19 increased by 89 to 9,466 since yesterday’s (9/8) report.

§ We are continuing to process cases that were reported to The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) directly by healthcare providers and entered into the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS), run by the CDC. Out of the 89 new cases today, 56 were tested prior to 8/26.

· ACTIVE cases of COVID-19 decreased by 194 to 1,212 since yesterday’s (9/8) report. On Tuesdays, we factor in additional “inactive” cases, or those we have been unable to contact for 30 days or more. This accounts for 186 of the drop in active cases.

· 25 residents are known to be in the hospital, as a result of contact investigations. Contact investigations have not been initiated on all reported cases.

· 6,530 people have clinically recovered.
