THE WOODLANDS, TX -- John Cooper Sports: Football Finishes Season 5-1; Winter Sports Begin. Results from the week of November 9, 2020

11/14 vs. St. John’s School • 15-14 L

Dragons finish season 5-1, falling 15-14 to SPC opponent.

11/ 9 vs. Frassati • 9-0 W

Coach Amber Clevenger: Our first game against Frassati was just what we needed to start the season off right. We had several players who contributed to the success of this 9-0 win. Mikaela Camarata and Kaitlin Hinch each scored two goals and Tamsin Prudencio scored one goal and had three assists! Other players with goals were: Sofia Gilroy, Katherine Staebel, Maddie Van Osdell & Gowri Gulasingam. It was a great combined effort and I hope that we are able to build upon that success.

11/12 vs. Second Baptist • 46-41 W

Coach B.J. Feuerhelm: To have the chance to take the court was something we looked forward to –to get the chance to go against Second Baptist and all their basketball tradition was a great opening game for us. The girls competed hard and we are excited about what lies ahead.

11/13 vs. The Village School • 53-41 L

Coach B.J. Feuerhelm: To welcome a top-ranked Village School to our place this week and fight them until the finish was exactly what our team needed in the early part of the season. Being able to build an early lead against this top-ranked team gave the girls the confidence that they belonged in the gym with the defending 6A TAPPS Champions. Starting off with two ranked opponents and competing the way we did showed our team that our championship goals are well within reach if we continue to work hard and look for steady improvement moving forward. I am super proud of the effort to kick things off.
