THE WOODLANDS, TX –- Cypress Woods traveled to Grand Oaks to face them in the 2nd game of the series. Grand Oaks needed to win this to take the series and move on to the next round against The Woodlands.

Cy-Woods jumped off to a quick lead as Torres was warming up in the circle for Grand Oaks. After a long 1st and second half of an inning, the Grizzlies were up and they delivered as Abby Garza (#21) hit an absolute bomb out of the park. Next up Gabby Rawls who needed a hit for the rally to continue. Just like Garza, Rawls hit an absolute tank out of the park. What is special about this is that it is her first homerun in her Grand Oaks high school career.

Grand Oaks took the lead but in the 4th Cypress Woods would rally back. They would bring in 4 massive runs off of 2 huge hits. Grand Oaks struggled as they missed a couple of infield grounders which Cypress Woods would capitalize on. In the same inning, things looked bleak as Cypress Woods retired 3 of the Grand Oaks batters back to the dugout.

Once again, Grand Oaks would show up in the 5th and 6th as they hit and forced errors on the Cypress Woods team. They would bring in 3 runs in the 5th off of 2 errors and 1 rbi. And in the 6th they would go on a hitting rally as they brought in 4 runs off 4 hits.

It was all but over in the 7th as Grand Oaks lead 12-8. With a huge rally in the 6th, Grand Oaks was able to separate themselves enough against Cypress Woods to bring home the victory and move on to the Regional Quarterfinals.

They are set to face fellow district team, The Woodlands as they both fight to move on in the 2022 UIL Softball Championship.

The Woodlands Knocks out Langham Creek
Game 1: 4-5 | Game 2: 9-6 | Game 3: 11-1 | Series: 2-1 (The Woodlands)

The Woodlands tied up the series at Magnolia High School forcing a game 3 against Langham Creek on Saturday. Unfortunately for Langham Creek, The Woodlands momentum was too much as they fell 11-1. The Woodlands is set to have a local match up for the regional quarter finals against Grand Oaks.

During the regular season, The Woodlands and Grand Oaks met up a couple of times which Grand Oaks took the victories. It should be an interesting matchup against the 2 powerhouse teams in the area.

Oak Ridge Falls to Bridgeland in 3
Game 1: 4-5 | Game 2: 0-2 | Game 3: 3-6 | Series: 2-1 (Bridgeland)

With a 1-1 tie in the series, Bridgeland traveled to Oak Ridge for their final match up. Win this and move on to Regionals, lose and the season comes to an end.

Bridgeland took the first win with a walk-off, but right behind them Oak Ridge tied up the series forcing a game 3 on their home turf.

Unfortunately for Oak Ridge, their season has come to an end with a 6-3 loss to the Bridgeland Bears. They are set to face Cypress Ranch who knocked out Willis in the Area round.

Cypress Ranch Takes Out Willis
Game 1: 4-12 | Game 2: 0-6 | Series: 0-2 (Cypress Ranch)

The Cypress Ranch Mustangs brought in too many for the Willis Wildkats in game 1 of the series. With 12 runs Willis struggles to gain a lead from Cypress Ranch.

This was the same situation in the 2nd game as well. Cypress Ranch took a 6-0 victory to seal the series and move on to the next round.
