Mama Wa Nuru, which means Women of Light, began in 2013 with a hope and prayer to unite the church in Lindi, Tanzania. Today women from six different denominational backgrounds come together to support each other in love and grace. They take coconuts from the local trees along the southern coast of Tanzania and repurpose the shells into unique and beautiful pieces of jewelry. The creation of this coconut necklace provides income for families in Tanzania in the form of a dignified job.
